The Liebherr family business was created in 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The company initially gained fame from its mobile tower crane which was noted for its ease of assembly and affordability. It was upon this invention that the foundation of the company flourished under. These days, Liebherr has grown to become amongst the leading manufacturers in the field of construction machinery. The business has also earned the reputation of being the accredited provider of technically innovative user-oriented products and services in different fields. The company has now become a "Group" working in every continent with over 130 companies and more than 35,000 employees all over the world.
In order to ensure a manageable operating size, the Liebherr Group has been divided into various company units. These units have been designed to operate separately. This specific set up enables the company the ability to stay in tune with worldwide competition and be flexible to market signals. What's more, having so many individual company units also ensures customer proximity and keeps customer service running at an optimum level.
The divisional control companies handle the production for the individual product segments and the operative management of the sales companies. The Liebherr Group currently encompasses ten different product divisions.
